Continuing Highlands Deforestation

Just a short bicycle trip through Vietnam suggests that deforestation is a continuing problem.  Agent Orange caused deforestation during the War, see later chapter on the War Remnants Museum.
Here is a recent magazine article about deforestation around Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon:  https://blisssaigon.com/deforestation-in-vietnam/
Wikipedia reports that Vietnam has the second highest rate of deforestation in the world.

While there is little forest cover along the coast, the Highlands seem to be experiencing active clearing of forest for coffee and other crops.

Below, the highlands pine trees show the effects of herbicide along the road.
