August 11, 2008: Walldorf/Heidelberg east Along the Neckar River

Walldorf is an affluent southern suburb of Heidelberg.
Walldorf is the home of two major companies (SAP and Heidelberg Printing Machines) and seems to have done of planning a green and livable community.

Heidelberg is situated on the Neckar River. Here is a gargoyle face carved into the beautiful red sandstone building.
We followed the Neckar bicycle path east.
Our last stop on the Neckar was the beautiful town of Hirschhorn. From there, we departed the Neckar north up into the hills.
