London National Gallery

With a wealth of great art, here are a few examples of English painters.  All, in a way, deal with the ending of one era and the start of another.

Algernon Moses Marsden, shown in the first painting, was an art dealer.

Jacques Joseph (James) Tissot (1836-1902).  Portrait of Algernon Moses Marsden.  1877.

Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851).  Dutch Boats in a Gale, 1801.

Turner.  Rain, Steam and Speed - The Great Western Railway, 1844.

Turner  The Fighting Temeraire tugged to her Last Berth to be broken up, 1838.
