Waldensiana

The Waldensians are a religious group that formed in Lyon around 1177.  They were persecuted, especially around the time of the Reformation in the 1500s.  They fled to the alpine valleys of Italy, where their culture still survives.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waldensians

 Along the trail, is seen a maxim which perhaps means something like "One does not have all the time, even of 20 years."  It is in French, Waldensian sayings can often be in French even now in Italy.
