Morandi at MAMBO

We jump now from Ticino Switzerland to Bologna Italy.
One of the most famous artists from Bologna was Giorgio Morandi, 1890 - 1964.  Link:Giorgio Morandi
Here is a sampling of his work from the Modern Art Museum of Bologna.
Seeing the collection is definitely more than the sum of its parts.
His comparative style and evolution emerges, as do relationships between the objects.

This etching of "Poplars" from 1930 showcases his cross hatching technique.
He taught himself etching and later taught it at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna for 25 years.
