Our second day of hiking went from Rifugio Garelli at 1965 m to Limonetto at 1200 m.
27 km, 1100 m altitude gain and 1900 m altitude loss.
It included two passes at 1989 and 2219 m, as well as the Colle di Tenda at 1871 m, which is the end of the Ligurian Alps and is on the border of France and Italy.
In the morning, we were walking on the stones of an old Roman road. Seen in two pictures below.
This was the beginning of the Italian national park and the wildflowers were wonderful in the high meadows.
