Our hike started not far from the Mediterranean in the small town of Viozene, below, 1245 meters high.
Stage One went from Viozene to Rifugio Garelli at 1965 meters.
It was 18 km with 1,240 meters of elevation gain and 520 meters of elevation loss.
This stage had several passes, at: 1597, 2147, 1998, and 2225 meters.
