We leave behind the industrial areas of Nancy in the Lorraine and head for the hills of Alsace.
The canal which had followed the Sanon River out of Nancy becomes the canal of the Marne and the Saar in Alsace, with a very good bike path.
Immediately recognizeable change in architectural styles and a lot more German being spoken.
