Examples of Swiss Engineering: Water, Green Roofs, Tunnels, etc.

The Swiss have been engineering waterways for centuries. Observe on the Reuss River in Lucerne, how the river is flowing behind the barricades, while the construction takes place way below the water level, for new sluices and powerworks.

The car tunnel, above, has a green roof and a separate lane for bicycles. It allows transport around the Walensee, where the cliffs come right to the water. The green roof, below, is for a bicycle shed at a factory.

The waterfall above was constructed on top of a double tunnel around Lake Lucerne, which allows car and train traffic in separate tubes. There is also a separate bike lane.
