Speyer Dom and Fest; August 10, 2008

On Sunday Harmut, Alexandra, and children took us to Speyer to see the Dom/Cathedral.
It is a beautiful Romanesque building of red pink and white sandstone with parts dating back 1,000 years. The town was filled with German tourists celebrating the Kaiser Tafel fest.

Hartmut and the boys listening to a cello quartet on the street.

Old fountain on a back street. How old?

Odd statues in front of the Dom, labelled the crowing of the Franko-Silesian King.
